Scientific studies have shown, time and again, that music has an ergogenic effect on exercise. While the magnitude of such effects cannot be pinpointed, there’s no denying that music is an integral part of working out for many people. I recall listening to music on wired headphones connected to my smart phone during a run; the flaying of the wires was irritating as hell. And I never looked back ever since I found wireless. So I was delighted to hear that Bose, a name synonymous with sound quality, will be releasing their Soundsports headphones this quarter.
Bose’s Soundsports and Soundsports Pulse are both wireless headphones which are designed with physical training in mind.
The sweat and water resistant headphones features Bose’s powerful audio performance and a comfortable fit. Bose’s umbrella shaped StayHear+ tips creates a gentle seal in the ear, while an extended wing “locks” in the fit. An inline mic and remote allows users to skip songs, adjust volume, or simply make calls.
List of features:
- Bluetooth and NFC enabled
- Sweat and Water resistant
- Bose Connect app for even more functionality
- Inline mic and remote
- Heart rate monitor (SoundSports Pulse only)
- Battery life of up to 5 hours (Soundsports Pulse) and 6 hours (Soundsports)
When used with the Bose Connect app , users may update software, personalise their voice prompt language and display real-time heart rate in the case of the Soundsports Pulse.Bose’s SoundSport (139.95£) wireless headphones is available in Black, Aqua, and Citron. The SoundSport Pulse (169.95£) headphones will come in Power Red only and will only be available from September onward.
StayHear+ tips for SoundSport headphones are included in three sizes: small, medium and large.Wireless headphones are dime a dozen. Sound quality aside, a good pair of earphones that fit comfortably during exercise is hard to come by. I’ve owned both the Mpows and Jaybirds and while both performed well, especially the value for money Mpows, the fit is not quite there yet.
So I’m really looking forward to getting my hands on Bose’s Soundsports wireless headphones.
