Jabra Elite Sport True Wireless Earbuds 2017 edition – News | GadFit

October 17, 2017

Back in July 2017, Jabra announced an upgrade to their cutting edge Jabra Elite Sport earbuds – up to 50% increased battery life and new colour options. There’s also a new Lime Green Gray colour option on top of the all black version in the 2017 edition.

Jabra was one of the first to deliver on true wireless earbuds back in 2016. Even then, they packed their hearables with science from Firstbeat to combine audio and fitness tech into a single device.

Jabra Elite Sport 2017 features:

  • True wireless smart earbuds
  • In ear heart rate measurements
  • TrackFit motion counting sensor
  • Bespoke bass-enriched speakers with 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range
  • 4 x digital MEMS microphones with advanced noise cancellation technology
  • HearThrough channelling external ambient noise into earbuds for awareness
  • Waterproof rated to IP67
  • Jabra Sport Life for Apple iOS and Android
  • Bluetooth 4.1
  • 3-year extended warranty against perspiration damage

The Jabra Elite Sport 2017 retains the biometric sensor technology from Valencell with sports science from Firstbeat including features such as VO2 max estimation, training effect and recovery time advisor. Comparatively Apple’s AirPods ships without all the fitness science features.

With the upgrade, the Jabra Elite Sport 2017 edition can now effectively run up to 4.5 hours on a single charge and up to 13.5 hours when considering the 9 hours worth of juice in the charging case. The 2016 version last up to 3 hours on a single charge with an additional 6 hours worth in the charging case.

The Elite Sport 2017 will come with 3 sets of earwings, sililcone eargels and foam tips to ensure optimal fit for the user.

Though the recommended retail price is USD 249.99, I did see the earbuds at USD $50 off at Amazon. The Jabra Elite Sport 2017 edition is currently available in Singapore from Jabra’s Asia Pacific website at SGD 388.

And similar to the 2016 earbuds, Jabra is offering 3 years extended warranty against perspiration damage.
