Samsung has also included the successful turning bezel from the Gear S3 into the Gear Sport; employing it to control various watch functions including customisation of watch face.

Along with the Apple Watch Series 3, Fitbit Ionic, Garmin Vivoactive 3, the Samsung Gear move looks set to vie for the wearables market featuring contact-less payments.

The Samsung Gear Sport is now officially available on most major online retailer such as Amazon at the recommended retail price of $299.99.

No matter how good the hardware is, Samsung’s fitness products are let down by the accompanying software. Samsung Health is a very minor player compared to Fitbit’s and Garmin’s efforts. It also doesn’t have the large user communities that Fitbit and Garmin have.

You’re right David. Samsung does make some decent hardware by comparison to the competition but the lack of attention to their mobile app is concerning.

I keep looking for customizable activity tracking similar to Fit Bit and Garmin but they are not producing the app to keep up with the competition. Great Hardware….just meets average app. I switched because the others hardware was weak. Still waiting to be awed by the app….and waiting……and waiting.
