I’m not a big fan of Suunto’s watch UI and functions but they do make ridiculously beautiful GPS watches with their Suunto Spartan series. To celebrate Finland’s 100 years of independence this year, the company has released 100 units of the Suunto Spartan Suomi 100 Limited Edition watch.
The Suunto Spartan Suomi 100 Limited Edition is basically the Suunto Spartan Sports Wrist HR topped with premium materials like sapphire glass, premium textile strap and gold plated titanium bezel that resembles that on the Spartan Ultra. Also, every purchase of the limited edition watch will see Suunto donate 100 € to support the Finnish veterans; as a gesture of gratitude to those who fought to preserve Finland’s independence during the war years
Released on November 30th, the Suunto Spartan Suomi 100 Limited Edition watch is sold at the Amer Sports Brand Store in Helsinki, at suunto.com (to Finland only) and by High Peak Finland, and its RRP is 699 € and is available exclusively in Finland only.
For international customers, a special Finland Edition of the Suunto Spartan Sport Wrist HR (599 €) will be made available via Suunto webshop. This watch will also feature the same sophisticated look of the Suunto Spartan Suomi 100 Limited Edition – gold plated stainless steel bezel with sapphire crystal glass.
Both watches mirror the full capabilities of the Suunto Spartan Sport Wrist HR series and feature wrist based heart rate measurements provided by Valencell.
Suunto has made a lot of improvements to their Suunto Spartan series of multi-sport watches via regular firmware updates since the first Ultra was announced back in 2016. The latest update allowed the watches to track sleep, added native compatibility with Stryd running power meters along with enhanced navigation capabilities.
Worth taking a look if you’re on the market for a head turning GPS sports watch.
